Orlando Vacation

After the fun and excitement of discovering that we are expecting a baby boy, Rylee and I headed out for a week vacation in Orlando. I had planned to go visit my sister in Wisconsin, but cancelled the trip because my niece is due to be born any day now and I didn't want to be too far away. My friend Michelle had a time share that she so kindly invited us to share with her for the week. We planned lots of fun, sun and shopping!!

We spent the 1st day relaxing by the pool. I was beat after a 10 hour shift then a 14 hour shift then an eventful ultrasound and traveling day. I needed to relax. It was a great day and lot of fun catching up with Michelle. She recently moved to Georgia and I've missed her terribly.

The next 3 days started the shopping marathon. The shopping was both fun and painful. My pregnant body was KILLING me by the end of each shopping day. I'm not sure if I'm going to return from vacation very rested. Rylee has sooooo many clothes that I didn't go with much intention of buying her a bunch of stuff. Plus with the upcoming remodel, I'm not sure where everything is going to go during the time we downsize from a 3 bedroom house to a 1 bedroom house. I also couldn't buy anything house related for the same reasons. So....what to do with all this shopping... BOY, OH BOY! I was soooo excited to get to shop for some baby boy clothes! Let me just say that the excitement wore off quickly. I spent 2 & 1/2 days looking and didn't buy 1 thing. I kept oohing and ahhing over the little girl stuff and the boy stuff was just ehhhh... Nothing was 'speaking' to me. It is sooo weird. I never dressed Rylee in stuff with big characters on the front and everything for a boy has some kind of big animal on the front. It is definitely going to take some adjusting. I was wanting to find something that just melted my heart, but apparently that doesn't happen with little boy things. Finally by the last half of the 3rd day I was able to connect with the little boy clothes. I wouldn't say that I was WOWed, but I saw some potential.

As a side note...at one store we were at, I kept getting onto Rylee for getting out of the stroller. Finally I realized that she was fussing at me saying she wanted to pick out something for her little brother. I had planned to let her pick something out, but since I wasn't connecting to anything I couldn't figure out what to let her pick from. Luckily when she was insisting on picking out something we were in the baby blanket section. With her loving attachment to her blankies she was too eager to pick out one for her baby brother. It was too sweet. Funny enough...by the time we got home to show Daddy what she picked out, she told him the blanket was for the baby brother in HER tummy. She cracks me up!!

After 3 days of grueling shopping we decided to take another day of rest by the pool before we had to pack up and leave the following day. That was a welcomed relief. Rylee demonstrated near perfect form with her swimming which made me really happy since it has been over a month since she was in the water.

The worst part of the week, was tonight when I was putting Rylee to bed at home and she asked for her slippers. I realized that she wore them to bed last night at the hotel and they must have come off in the covers while she slept. Neither of us thought about them this morning and unfortunately we left them behind. We managed the melt down tonight, but I'm not sure how it is going to go for the next week until we can get the hotel to ship them to us. No telling how much that is going to cost! Oh well...amazing what we go through for our babies!
